Milwaukee Homicide Review Commission Project

The Milwaukee Homicide Review Commission Project is working to implement a similar Commission in the city of Chicago by conducting research on its structure and benefits, and ultimately creating a proposal that will be brought to policymakers.

Volunteer Requirements

The Commission uses a multi-level and multi-agency review process to review homicide cases in Milwaukee. The Commission comprises of four levels that are to work together to devise methods of homicide and violence prevention through regular meetings and exchange information about the state of violence in the city. Creating a similar Commission in Chicago would allow law enforcement, social service organizations, and community members alike to understand the root causes of violence in the city through a holistic perspective and find ways to prevent such violence from occurring in the future.
